Erika's Birthday! and UPDATE

Erika is now 8! She has been asking/begging for an American Girl doll ever since her dad got her the American Girl magazine and now she has one. Her other dream has been to get her ears pierced. A few years ago she asked me if we could get her ears pieced and I told her I got my ears pierced for my 12th birthday. Erika took my story to mean she would get her ears pierced for her 12th birthday; she has been so jealous of the girls at school with their pieced ears. We decided to surprise her and get it done for her 8th birthday -- we got there and Eli leaned down as we were to the doors and asked, "Are you ready to get your ears pierced?" Erika started to cry, "No, No." It only took a moment of picking out the earrings and she was ready to go, a few tears but nothing major.

Erika, Sarah and I had a girls afternoon and got our hair done. Erika with her new short summer doo and Sarah hanging out.

The scouts had the annual blue and gold ball. This year is the 100th anniversary of scouts; all the boys entered their own decorated cakes. Noah didn't win, but he did all of the work for his cake and it was scout colors through and through - red velvet cake with blue frosting and yellow Fleur de lis decorations made by Noah.
Sarah has been rolling over since Valentines, but she is sneaky and will not roll over with the camera out. This is the best we've got so far.
